Bros for Change helping boys become men

Bros for Change is leading boys on their journey to becoming men, one step at a time.

With support from Rātā Foundation, the alternative education programme takes “at-risk” youth and gives them valuable skills they can use to set goals for the future.

Bros for Change founder Jaye Pukepuke said funding from Rātā Foundation allowed the service to run full time.

“It means that 40 kids a year get to, at the bare minimum, try new things, have new experiences, have positive role models.”

He said the most recent batch of “graduates” finished the programme with a challenging hike along the Queen Charlotte Track.

“The trip really pushed the boys to their limits, but they all completed it with a smile on their face. It really was a valuable experience.”

“None of it would be possible without the support from funders like Rata Foundation.”
